Bihar's economy
In this interview with Nitish Kumar, comes out an interesting truth
"Bihar's economy works on subcontracting: a village teacher 'sells' the job to a substitute and they share the salary. The result is, no one is obligated to actually teach."
This is same with the students too. They 'contract' out their 'work' and have someone
appear for exams and get a degree. So you have fake teachers and fake students.
Speaks volumes for the state of Bihar.
For a change Bihar has a CM who is ready to acknowledge the problems the
state faces and is willing to try solving them. It remains to be seen how all this
pans out. This state has been thrown back 30yrs during Laloo's rule. It is going
to take a lot of focussed reforms to get this
state out of the gutter.
